The Next Adventure is Called... (And a Surprise of a Different Kind!)

Published on 13 August 2025 at 07:00

By now, some of you will know that the title for Book 2 of "A Newman Adventure" is An American Treasure. It's out there, and there is no going back! Unless, of course, some massive company wants to sign me on and decides to change everything... but don't worry, I don't think that's going to happen.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Say Hello to "An American Treasure"

It's a slightly different title to An Irish Mystery. People see that first title and presume the whole book is based in Ireland. Well, the prologue is (and I don't care if you're on the side that thinks a prologue in a book is pointless – I love them!), but the adventure spans continents. An American Treasure is the official title for Book 2, and yes, it is based primarily in America. Over the next few weeks, I will announce some other things about the book, like the blurb and where in America it is located (if you haven't worked it out yet from the Easter eggs I've been posting!). Let me know if you think you've figured it out!

โ€‹I wanted a title that would follow on from Book 1 so people knew it was all part of the same series. The problem was the word "An." Originally, An Irish Mystery was The Irish Mystery, and now when I am trying to name all my books, I wish I had stayed with "The," just for the fact it's easier to pair up with other words to create a title. You are a bit more limited with "An." I had three titles I had been working with over the last 3 or 4 years, but I won't let on what those were, as I don't want to give away what the treasure is!

โ“๏ธ What's the Adventure About? (A Little Tease)

The adventure in Book 2 is a proper, old-school treasure hunt for a lost, buried treasure. This time, however, the stakes are higher, as there is a rival also searching for it – somebody who feels that it belongs to him as compensation for the hardship his family suffered from the man who stole the cache of treasure in the first place.

โ€‹This rival will stop at nothing to find this treasure to add to his already impressive collection from that era. He has money, and with money comes power. But what he doesn't know is, so does Cedric Newman... who has a lot more.

โ€‹Any ideas what Newman and his team are searching for? Have a guess in the comments!

๐Ÿ“ˆ A Quick Business Update

On the 17th of August, my book comes off Kindle Unlimited. I explained why in my last blog, and I am hoping it will open some new avenues for new readers to pick up my book. If you do not use Amazon Kindle to read books, you may be able to find my book on a different store very soon.

๐Ÿ›’ A Very Welcome Surprise

Last week, I was searching the internet to see how my book shows up on search engines. While searching, I was shocked to discover that my book was listed on some other sites I didn't expect! I found it on Bookshop.com (only on their American site, not the UK one yet) and the one that gave me the biggest smile of all: Waterstones. Okay, it's not on the shop floor, but you can buy my book through the Waterstones website. How cool is that!

โ€‹But the weirdest thing was finding my book on an Italian website, an Indian website and a Korean website, which just blew my mind. Don't believe me? Follow the links below.

โ€‹P.S. I've sold one in Vienna, Austria.
